4.0 out of 5 stars HT-BD1252,
Samsung HT-BD1252. Cinema surround sound, FM Radio, Plays CD, DVD and Blue Ray Discs, however its pretty selective and quite a few CD's DVD's and I had one Blue Ray that refused to play. Up and running sound wise pound for pound and if you don't compare it to true Hi-Fi it's pretty good. The HT-BD 1252 bristles with high tech features, the difficulty being that the user manual I found unclear and confusing. The biggest error being that if you use this sound system ith the latest Samsung 8000 series TV you need an optical connection for sound, the manual does not mention this! Just one other thing, when in use the cooling fan does create a constant low level noise. All round and once sorted this Samsung 5:1 cinema surround sound is powerful and sounds good. 2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, look elsewhere,,
Purchased this home cinema to go with our Samsung LED TV. The set up was easy and the first Blu Ray it played was awesome. Picture and sound were first rate. Within a few weeks the player had taken it upon itself to switch off mid film. To restart meant going back to switching it on again, wade through all the coming soons and legal notices etc. It was now becoming a chore to watch a film. In due course it wouldn't switch back on. Amazon were great at replacing the unit under warranty. The new one arrived and was a straight swap. Straight away we had problems. Sound was good, but picture just pixellated, even on brand new sealed discs. Tried everything including new firmware etc. The last straw was when it took seven attempts and forty minutes to start a Blu Ray disc. Then within 20 minutes it froze! Amazon have refunded us. However I am wondering whether it is Samsung or the Blu Ray format, to the point I am not rushing out to replace it I am so disappointed with the format. Amazon have been very good and I have no complaint about their service, hugely disappointed with Samsung's Blu Ray offering. However the TV is still working and is quite exceptional. |
